関節軟骨

関節を構成する骨の末端には関節軟骨があります。

関節軟骨は非常に滑りが良く、スピードスケート靴の歯と氷の摩擦係数とほぼ等しいと言われています。つまりつるつるで原則的には摩れ合わさることによって無いような数字と考えられています。

しかし、その軟骨を栄養する血流は乏しく関節液から栄養を受けているようです。そのため一度損傷するとうまく再生することが出来ません。
